“It’s soft, but very cold.” I nod. “That’s because I stopped my heartbeat and my breathing. So, it’s extra cold.” “Can you spend days without breathing?” “No, just a few hours.” “And you look extra pale. Why are you so pale?” She asks as I help her down from the table. “Because there is no blood moving around my body.” “I don’t understand,” she scrunches up her nose. I chuckle. “Can you breathe underwater?” “I don’t breathe at all when I’m underwater,” I put the first aid kit back in the cabinet.

I watch as my skin turns blue and starts to get painful as it freezes. My the skin continues to turn blue, traveling down my arms. I grit my teeth at the pain as I watch my skin literally freeze. The ice finally makes its way to my hands and start spreading throughout Julian's body.

“You can get dressed.” With trembling hands I pulled my clothes back on, fumbling with the zipper on my coat and the button on my jeans. My fingers were numb and not working as I wanted them to and I couldn’t stop the chattering of my teeth. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that my lips were turning blue with how cold it was in this tent. It might block the wind, but the overall temperature was still probably twenty or less.
