“You think being alive and wearing that crown makes you better than me?” A slow, infuriating smile spread across Briar’s face, the kind that made my stomach twist. “News flash, Roxie.” She pointed straight at me. “I am better than you.” She let the words hang for a beat. “I’m not the one who stole her stepsister’s business. Brielle's pace quickened as she tapped her feet to the beat in her head, allowing the sound to take over her senses, and she laughed out loud and carefree, with no worries in the world.
