Della exclaimed. Leslie laughed as she opened the box. She gasped and lifted out the necklace inside. It was a deep red stone set in a plain gold chain. The stone was a deep rich red that seemed to hold the light rather than simply reflect it. Leslie held it up and went very still. "It is the Lonefur Ember," she said in excitement. In his hand was a black twine bracelet with a small stone heart, the two ends that tied the bracelet together where both slipped through the hole in the center of the heart and tied on either end of the heart.

My door was already open. Emberlyn hunched over a cauldron of silver liquid, bubbling with the viscosity of something not quite chemical, not quite alive. Cornrow braids glowing faintly. Bioluminescent strands sparking static. Glasses fogged with steam, lenses opaque. The look of someone who'd gone blind from staring too long at what shouldn't be seen.

However, it wasn’t the same as to what I'm seeing now. There was a boy. I can’t recognize his face because of the weird blurry effect of the dream. The only thing I saw clearly were his eyes. His emerald-colored eyes are still engraved in my mind. Even though it’s already been a year since I last dreamt of it, I still can’t forget his eyes. The scenes may be different to what I'm seeing now, but they were both peculiar and still not on earth.
