She let out a frustrated groan and then stomped off somewhere else, so I laughed out loud. "What's so funny?" Jessica looked at me curiously. "Your cousin, she is hilarious," I said. "Who? Evelyn? What makes you say that?" She narrowed her eyes. Hmm...I couldn't have Jessica be suspicious of Eve and me. She was my doorway to see as much of Evelyn as possible. I'm not saying I wanted to use Jessica to get Evelyn, but she could help speed up the process. I shrugged. "It's nothing. You know we are competitors, right?"

Stephen sniggered. "To be fair, he made me stumble first!" Ricardo grunted. Stephen kept snickering, but Ricardo didn't bother. They saw Tony coming back, but he had no salver or drinks with him. Instead, a lanky boy who looked like he barely graduated came carrying the cocktails and some snacks. Ricardo's mood worsened on seeing this, as he wanted to make him trip over him and let the drink land on him so that he could get an opportunity and reason to humiliate and be mad at him publicly, but just his luck. He hmphed irritably and looked away. Stephen, on the other hand, took a page out of Ricardo's book and silently forwarded his foot towards Tony's arriving step.

Tony grumbled, sliding down in his seat. “You guys must’ve been so cute!” I gushed, chuckling at their blushing faces. Wow! Just wow! And to think that they’re in the mafia doing some really shady stuff on a daily basis… “Oh they were adorable!” Another guy commented, looking up from his screen. “They both used to dress up as pirates almost everyday!” He added. Oh god! I started laughing when I saw how red Tony and Lucas’s cheeks were at this point. “And do you remember how they both dressed up as that boy from the jungle book and didn’t even wear their undergarments claiming that the boy in the forest didn’t wear any either?” A girl added, chuckling as she recalled the incident.

"Were you planning to send me to clean up your mess, or to send one of our teammates to their death instead? You're awfully generous when you're spending other people's lives." The teammates who had been trying to persuade me earlier all fell silent. After all, the last time we'd merely passed near that subway station, five people had been dragged to their deaths. No one had forgotten how terrifying that place was. Seeing there was no way he was getting a detonator from me, the man suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Eliza's arm, his eyes brimming with tears. Then Tony leaves us with the menus as he disappears to get the wine. “Was it something I said?” I ask "he looked surprised that I wanted red wine, as did you...uh, Sir...I mean, Marc" “No, no, it’s just a private wine joke” he laughs “it’s utterly childish, I wouldn’t want your opinion of me damaged by explaining the joke”
