SAN FRANSISCO - KLEIN'S MANSION Charvie's body trembled, her eyebrows furrowed, and her eyes squeezed shut as she tossed and turned in bed. "Alle... fucking let me get into the hospital!" Charvie panted out of her nightmare, her heart racing like a wild animal. The bed sheets beneath her drenched with sweat. As she slowly got herself back, she reminded herself it was just a dream. Yet, the memory of it lingered, haunting her. Why must she have this crazy nightmare every night?

That night, Lily found herself plagued by a terrifying nightmare. In her dream, she saw herself running alongside a lake, experiencing unimaginable pain as she cried and bled from underneath. She woke up with a start, her body drenched in sweat, and gripped her blanket tightly. Her heart pounding, she held her chest and sat up, whispering, "What kind of nightmare was that?"

“Take a nap, sweet heart.” "Alright," I conceded, a pout on my lips. "But only because I have a mountain of work waiting for me on the other side." Charles' smile widened. I got undressed and climbed under the blankets. Before I knew it, I could hear him humming softly, and then, I heard nothing. My dreams were dark. Swirls of fire and fear danced on the edges. I could see Alpha Shadow’s eyes staring at me as if from a distance, but the terror of my previous nightmare didn’t come an nearer.

He was my home. At some point I fell asleep crying. I woke up a few hours later in matching pajamas and curled up in my bed. I could tell he had been in the bed with me based on the way the blankets fell on the other side of the bed. I immediately panicked. I needed him by me. I grabbed my phone and saw all of the messages and calls from the last few days. I had talked to the kids and they were coming home tomorrow. I was so ready to see them but right now all I wanted was Collier. I didn’t want to look like a child calling him to see where he was. There wasn’t a sound in the house though so I knew he wasn’t here.
