No one except the man. The lights flickered. Static buzzed in the bulbs. Electricity crackled. The carriage was plunged into darkness, just a split second of impenetrable black that filled my mouth, my nose, my ears, like thick, dank water, choking me, drowning me. When the lights exploded back into life, I saw it. A sheen of silvery skin on the man's cheek, harsh white reflecting off scarred flesh. It was a brief flicker of a bad dream. A touch of a nightmare; there and then gone again so quickly that I had to blink away the haze, but I knew I'd seen it, I'd seen him .

You don’t do that to yourself. You don’t tear yourself apart like that. Unless— The room felt smaller. My breath came shallow. A sick, crawling horror slithered down my spine. Unless Lena never crashed at all. Unless someone had made her believe she had. 22 LENA The nightmares were getting worse. I woke up gasping, clawing at my arms, the ghost of something sharp lingering against my skin. The sheets clung to me, damp with sweat. My heart pounded so hard it hurt.

Liora's POV The nightmares started three nights after the training room attack. At first, they were quiet — soft whimpers in the dark, Alora tossing and turning in her sleep. But by the fourth night, they had become full-blown terrors that tore through the silence of the mansion like shattered glass. “Mommy! No! Don’t take me!” Her scream ripped through the room at 2:47 AM. I bolted upright, heart exploding in my chest, and pulled her into my arms before she could thrash herself off the bed.

UNSETTLING DREAMS Mark wakes up,the room is dark,he feels unsettled with the atmosphere around, he hears the wailing of a child,he looks around searching for Lillian. Valerie said as she shuddered. "Yeah. Well, let me get back out there while these are cooking. Don't worry, Val, I'll be careful if that guy comes back in here." "Alright, girl. I'll talk to you later." Tabitha wasn’t going to tell Valerie about the dreams involving Mark. Those were the real nightmares. They had evolved from just him raping her after being with the man she couldn’t see. There were several where he forced himself on her. She shuddered as she thought about those. That was part of her past that she didn’t care to remember.

Seven Years Later... ~Ezinne~ I awoke abruptly, my scream piercing the silence of the night, a familiar terror gripping my heart from the same nightmare that had plagued me for years. There was no one rushing into my room to check on me anymore; my nightly outbursts had become routine, and I had been labelled a witch by those who heard my screams. The worst part was that every detail of the dream would slip from my memory upon waking, leaving me drenched in sweat, and heart racing with an unnameable fear.

My Nightmare Natty's POV It was morning already and last night was a long night. I never knew he was that insatiable.I lot count as to how many times we did it. Thinking about it, I smiled. I looked over to him and smiled more. He was still sleeping like a baby. I tried standing up but I felt pain in my thighs. I tried again but I just groaned. My groaning woke him up,he was baffled and asked. "Baby are you alright..."he asked in a husky voice.

I felt my chest start to burn as I heard her sobbing. My interest was piqued. I wanted to wait until I couldn't hear her talking before opening the door and going in. Listen, I overheard her screaming, and she said, "I wish I was dead, I wish I was dead, it is me, how would I know that my father was touching me?" I found her screaming after I eavesdropped on her, and I found her screaming after I found her. "How could I possibly know? When I woke up, I was a child. I had been sleeping."
