Faith's Pov: I woke with a gasp, my chest tight as if I had just run a marathon in my sleep. The nightmares were relentless, plaguing my every dream. I hadn’t had a peaceful night’s sleep since I was a child. Every time I tried to close my eyes, I was pulled into a nightmare that felt too real, too vivid. I blinked rapidly, my gaze falling to the alarm clock next to my bed. Three in the morning. Of course. I groaned in frustration, flopping back down onto my pillow, my body a tangled mess of frustration and exhaustion.

Liora's POV The nightmares started three nights after the training room attack. At first, they were quiet — soft whimpers in the dark, Alora tossing and turning in her sleep. But by the fourth night, they had become full-blown terrors that tore through the silence of the mansion like shattered glass. “Mommy! No! Don’t take me!” Her scream ripped through the room at 2:47 AM. I bolted upright, heart exploding in my chest, and pulled her into my arms before she could thrash herself off the bed.

Even after the moon waned and night turned to day, I continued to bite my nail, waiting for news from my mate but as the hours went by and I heard nothing, my anticipation and anxiety continued to mount. “I’m sure he is fine,” Beth said. “You should rest, Channy. Think of your baby.” Despite my mind being alert, I couldn’t deny the fact that my body was tired so I let her lead me to the only room in the sanctuary and coax me to sleep. With time, I could not keep my eyes open and the nightmares started. I had terrible nightmares on repeat. It was either I died or my mate died. In every dream where I died, I saw Dahlia towering above me, her eyes filled with malice as she stabbed into my stoma

’ I asked my talented mate. ‘Yes. I’ll place my fingers against your temples, and it will project them. So, just be sure to think about the ones in particular.’ I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to focus on the nightmares. I felt Bellamy’s magic against my temples and remembered several nightmares. I had nightmares damn near every night since I was four. The first nightmare I had when I was four. It was completely dark and freezing. I heard whispers all around me, but I could not make out what they were saying except one phrase. ‘Belong to me.’

I felt disappointed with myself. After the bindings being lifted I thought I’d feel free and empowered. But it was short lived and I just felt sad and exhausted. Brett had barely left my side and if he needed to, my parents, Jeremy, Louis or Lugh watched me. The nightmares came mainly at night where I was trying to reach Thomas down a corridor covered in smoke and flames but I could never get to him in time. I would then wake up sweating and gasping for breathe. I would then be hushed back to sleep or if Brett, cuddled. Brett walked in on Lugh cuddling me once and hit the roof. Lugh disappeared right in front of me, a trick he only seems to use when in life or death situations.

A dark and tall shadow is creeping out from under her bed. It's slowly approached her with a wide grin on its smoldered face. Its nails are long and sharp. Carina trembled in fright as she remembers its dangerous glints, full of vengeance and malice towards her. That shadow tried to touch her stomach while cackling boisterous laughter. Its laughter resounding in her dim-lit room, and Carina jolted up from her sleep, screaming in horror and fear.

CHAPTER TWO. “See you in school bunny” Those words sent chills down my spine as I watched him get smaller and smaller into the dark night, probably going back home to have a nice sleep. It felt like my whole world had gone dark the moment he came into my life. All I wanted to do was have a goodnight rest after returning from the restaurant, but my dreams would probably be haunted by memories of him and the way he bullied me in school.

The very core of me feeling emptier as the seconds go by. I remember that feeling, the soul sucking emptiness that surfaces my own memory. A memory of laying under Damian as he fed from me. I wake with a jolt, sitting up in the bed to find the room drenched in complete darkness, Lora is fussing in the crib so I collect her only to lay back on the pillows. I feed her as I think over the nightmare I had just surfaced from. There, Lil! Abyss shouts. Look at your daughters neck, she demands.

The nightmare had shaken me to my core, leaving me drenched in sweat, my heart hammering in my chest.
