“I hate you and I’m so proud of you.” Isabella’s smile faded slowly. She pulled the shirt closed again and hugged her knees. “Everything’s been… perfect. Stupidly perfect.” Her voice dropped. “Except the nightmares are back. Worse than ever.” Agnes went serious in a heartbeat. “The nightmare?” Isabella nodded, picking at the blanket. “The faceless man from that one night stand many years ago… he has Damien’s face now. Every time I wake up, I’m back in that room and it’s Damien walking out the door, leaving me there. It feels so real I wake up shaking and I can’t look at him the same for hours.”

Sensing my wakefulness, he looked down at me and gave me a weak smile. And that was enough to lead me back to my doom. Clutching the bed sheets with my trembling fingers, I tried to push away the images of the nightmare I had in my sleep. Dimitri grabbed her hand and started dragging her away as she yelled on top of her voice, stretching her other hand and trying to reach Leo who was coughing out blood but as Dimitri finally won and dragged her out of the place, she woke up. She would awaken almost every night screaming and reaching out to figures that simply vanished in the air before she could recognize who they were. One night, young Lisa sat up in bed shivering and her heart pounding against her chest. She looked at the shadows moving across her sheets and the wooden floor. Then, she noticed something shimmer and she looked up at the center of the room. She saw a tall lady wearing a white gown with ribbons. The lady smiled sweetly at Lisa before fading into thin air. NIGHTMARES. A very bad or frightening dream. Anna was starting to lose count of the number of nightmares she’s been having since Josh’s death but whenever she woke up with one, clearing her head with a jog had been working well on her. She lets out a sigh as she turns sideways to stare at the mini alarm clock she had next to her bed. The time read 6:00 am and she hated the fact that she had to be awake at this early hour of the day.

They look nervous, whispering to each other as they go. The clock ticks loudly in the quiet room. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. It feels like it's counting down to something terrible. My mom runs up to him, trying to hold him back. He turns his anger to her and snaps her neck right in front of me. I scream and yell for her, but she doesn’t move. His face flashes to mine, with a creepy evil smile and bright red eyes focused on me. He starts running to me, “No!” I scream, but it doesn’t slow him. I turn to run but he pounces on my back. My moms face appears in front of me, “This is all your fault!” She screams. That’s last thing I remember before I wake up to someone screaming my name. “Amy! Amy, wake up!”

I said, my voice barely above a whisper. As Luna turned to leave, she turned back to me. "Get some rest," she said with a gentle voice. I nodded, feeling grateful for her kindness. I quickly ate my food and lay down to sleep. I tossed and turned in my bed, unable to shake off the haunting image of Eva's terrified face in my dream. I had a dream of her being abused, and in my dream, I was powerless to stop it. It was a nightmare that felt too real, too vivid. My heart raced as I gasped for air, trying to wake up from the nightmare. But when I finally did, I saw Zero staring right at me, her green eyes glowing in the dark.

With a loud groan and no tears, she cried into her pillow and begged that she would fall back asleep; so she put the phone away and turned her head only to meet the corner of the apartment where two yellow eyes pierced back at her.
