I was not the only one struggling to sleep at night having nightmares. We were all having nightmares. This is not life.It is prison. I woke up soaked in sweat. Cassandria POV. We arrived back in the states early hours this morning. Katya and Anya both came with us. They will now start living here, in my mansion. I woke up after having a nightmare. I left the bed and headed down into the kitchen of the mansion. It’s still dark outside. I replay the nightmare in my head. Laying in a white bed, the sound of babies crying when I feel something gushing out of me. Looking down, I’m covered in blood. Then darkness. To wake up in another nightmare.

It's amazing how one moment can change your life forever. One action, one missed opportunity, one unexpected experience, can be the difference between living a dream, or trapped in a nightmare. Ten years ago, what started out as a dream, quickly turned into the nightmare that is my reality. That night is still a blur. To this day, I've no idea how I survived. I screamed, sitting straight up in bed as I gasped for breaths. It was just a nightmare, I assured myself as I looked around my rented room in Alaric’s condo. It seemed despite my physical escape from Ace abuse, my unconscious mind was still trapped. I was haunted my nightmares every time I slept, and they were becoming more and more vivid.
