Venus brought three options, a long veil with pearl embroidery, a shorter one with lace details, and a simple, almost sheer one. I tried each, and Beckie weighed in on all of them.
“The long one’s fancy, Cassie, but you might trip. The short one’s cute but kinda blah. This simple one… I don’t know, it suits you. It’s delicate but doesn’t steal the dress’s spotlight.”
“You’re good at this, huh?” I said, laughing, as Venus nodded, agreeing with the simple veil. My mom, of course, was crying again. “Rose, get it together, woman!” Beckie teased, and we all cracked up.
