Lorenzo sat by the fireplace, staring into the small flames. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Mateo, the way he turned his gun on Ricardo, the way he shouted for him to run. He couldn’t sleep. Couldn’t breathe properly. His heart felt trapped somewhere between guilt and hope. When the floorboard creaked behind him, Lorenzo tensed instantly, grabbing the nearest weapon, a knife from the table. A voice came softly from the shadows. “Easy, bella tempesta.” Lorenzo froze. Lorenzo barely reacted, but I felt his hand tighten on mine. The next few rooms were pretty standard haunted house fare. Creepy dolls, chainsaw-wielding maniacs, zombies in cages. He simply walked past her, his movements slow and deliberate, toward a single wooden chair tucked in the corner. Lorenzo moved the chair aside, the legs scraping against the stone floor with a sound that set Hailey’s teeth on edge. He knelt down, his expensive trousers staining with dirt as he used his bare hands to sweep away a layer of fine sand. A small, rusted iron latch appeared. He pulled it, and a section of the floor groaned open, revealing a dark, yawning staircase that led deep underground. "It’s small," Lorenzo said, his voice echoing in the quiet greenhouse. "But you’ll fit."

So, Theodore was by the plum tree waiting for him. Suddenly a hand crept up in front of his eyes which made him panic. So, he tried to bring out his horns, but he was unable to do because he was on the Divine land. So, he grabbed the hands that covered his eyes and tackled the person to the ground. "Ouch! It's me, Joseph. Please stop! You are hurting me," Joseph mourned in pain. Theodore stopped in his tracks. It took a moment for him to realize what exactly was happening. Theodore was on top of Joseph, straddling the arms above Joseph's head. Theodore was baffled. But, after coming to the realization, he felt a tingling sensation in his stomach, and his cheeks started to heat up.

So the Collins stayed on the line, on speaker, while the Haunters got ready and counted to three to remove the iron stars at the same time. The moment they did it, we all felt the ground shake under our feet. Brandon and Mike pretty much jumped down from the ladders, and the three of us sprinted down the stairs and out of the guesthouse. Trisha, Isaac and Susan ran out of the shed at the other end of the garden. All of us froze where we stood, looking around, hearts hammering our chests. You return from the bathroom to find that the remaining party guests seem to have scattered around the house. You contemplate leaving but decide to wander down the hallway and see if there is anyone interesting left to talk to. You overhear some female-sounding laughing from a bedroom and duck your head through the doorway. Inside you find Sandra Ben and her friend Laura Dan, lounging shoeless on a queen bed, glasses of red wine in their hands. Their dresses are dishevelled and there’s a lot of nylon-covered leg showing.

In total darkness, broken only by moonlight, Theo started to make his way back, trying not to trip or fall. He passes the waterfalls he had passed before, but when he's close to the end of the trail, he senses someone behind him and he tenses. Looking around but seeing nothing in the darkness, Theo hurries on, almost running, trying to get back to the path that leads to his apartment. Between darkness, fear and the uncertain path, Theo stumbles and when he falls, he hits his head and loses consciousness.
