Lucas shivered in fear due to Hugh's cold and oppressive demeanor, and he caught sight of the change in his eyes. Lucas raised his hand shakily and pointed at Hugh. He was confused and thought that he was hallucinating. He couldn't see the blue color anymore. But Hugh's stance remained cold. Lucas couldn't help but nod his head weakly and scrambled out of the ward to get the work done.

He huffs, “I’m fine. Do you know where Amber is?” I shake my head no and as he walks away from me I say, “Silas, I know that this must feel weird for you, but please don’t rush off.” He presses his lips together and nods, “I’ll try not to.” I’m left alone and Loki appears in my head and asks, “Can we go for a run?” I state, “Lux is gone.” He growls low in my head, “Yeah, she’s gone and she won’t be coming back for a long time. Does that mean you’re going to refuse to shift?”

The two wolves circled each other, snarling and growling, the air filled with the scent of blood and fear. And then with a single, swift motion, the newcomer struck, sinking his teeth into the black wolf’s neck. The black wolf howled in pain, then slumped to the ground dead. I stared in shock at the scene before me. Who was this newcomer, who had come to my aid? And what would become of me now? The newcomer turned to me, and I saw his eyes glowing in the moonlight. They were a deep rich blue eyes like the ocean on a clear night.
