Reading comics? Are you kidding me? Leah rolled her eyes inwardly. "I love reading comics too. They're so romantic and fun. I—" As Lily leaned closer, she caught sight of a gory close-up panel. A woman with blood all over her face was holding an axe, dismembering someone, wearing a twisted smile. The smile froze on Lily's face. Wait a minute! Did she see it wrong? The cover looked all cute and innocent, but why was the content so gruesome?!

The little blur of a human shape stared back at me like a promise. Later, Nolan knocked on the door again—less hesitant this time. “Hey,” he said, stepping inside. “Thought you might want this.” He handed me a little stuffed fox. “I saw it in the gift shop. Dumb, I know.” I took it, smiling despite myself. “It’s not dumb.” We stood there, the soft toy between us like a bridge. I thought about the doctor’s assumption. The lie we didn’t correct. Maybe it wasn’t a lie. Not completely.

After getting irritated I walked over the to closet and open its door that it was so big that I can't even call it a closet but a personal mini-mall where you can get anything you want. I step inside the closet and saw varieties of perfumes and Huda beauty's make up (my favorite brand) after checking the make up I opened a perfume bottle which looks so expensive that just to buy this single bottle I need to save my whole month salary, (that's a different story that I've no job)

His eyes danced from one stack to another like a kid in a candy store. Roman smiled. “I brought everything I could find from the store. I wasn’t sure which volumes you had already.” Lucien still couldn’t speak. His eyes landed on a separate pile covered with a silk cloth. Roman walked over and lifted the cloth like he was unveiling treasure. “I also brought your favorite... the BL comics.” Lucien whipped his head around, startled. “Wait—what?” Roman raised a brow, amused. “Boys Love. You read them a lot.” Lucien’s face turned red instantly. “H-how do you know that?”

Her lashes were darkened, and then Lovely opened her eyes when the beautician spoke. ‘Porpora...’ Lovely did not know that word, but as the beautician pushed up a lipstick Lovely managed, without translation, to work out what it meant. Crimson. ‘No.’ Lovely shook her head and insisted on a more neutral shade. Oh, Lovely wanted to be back in her cocoon—she was a very unwilling butterfly indeed—but she did buy the lipstick, and on her way back to the hotel she stopped at the boutique and bought the red dress. And then she entered the complex world of sexy shoes.

I didn’t even know what was going on. “I thought Riley left?” Kalil asked. So did I. I didn’t want to talk yet because he had questions that I knew I couldn’t answer. I connected my phone to the car radio and scrolled through my music. “I have a song for you.” The first notes of “Beautiful Surprise” by India Arie flowed through the truck and he went quiet as he listened. As the words registered a grin spread across his face. His smiles always made me feel better. “Thank you. I loved it,” he confessed as the final notes rang out.
