But he only laughed, a dark, mocking sound that sent chills down my spine.

Chris’s POV In the Aston Martin, the wind blew in my hair as I drove through the beautiful streets of the city. The weather was so good today, and I think it had an effect on my mental health–I felt so much serenity and contentment. Maybe that was because I finally had my wife back. I did not know what I did to deserve her forgiveness or what god had touched her heart to come back to me, but I was more than grateful.
