She tried to make contact with it, but it was as if there was a barrier. She couldn't get through. It amazed her, the warm energy told her it was not a spirit, in the sense of a lost soul. Cold was fear, but that energy was warm. She felt it tingle. It disappeared again. Maddie walked on to the library. Rodolf was among the piles of books, reading on his laptop. Raven stood high on a ladder, leafing through the books. He tried to read the titles of the books with his head to the side.

There where now books with titles such as The Witch Within You, Herbs and Pentagrams, Spells and the Sabbaths, True Magic in the World. Maddie had never noticed that there were so many books on that subject. She was shocked when Omem suddenly stood in front of her. ‘Are you coming, child? Lunch is ready.’ Maddie nodded and left the library.

Eva made to sit and ended up sprawling into Sana’s lap, eliciting yet another round of laughter. “what’s with you?” Sana asked. “you’re either too sober or too drunk. Which?” “March Madness just sold out.” I said. The words felt wrong. Repulsive. “I’m too drunk to understand what you just said.” Charlie said. “What the fuck is March Madness?” “sounds like a disease.” Eva shrugged. “it’s a book. My book. The only book I’ve ever published. March Madness. My editor just called to say it’s become an overnight raging success and I’m even a bestseller now.”

Maddie and Olive pushed against the mob as the man turned the lock, and were among the first people to enter the store as the old man pushed the doors open. Just as April G said those words, Madison looked over and saw a large book with a cat silhouette and three red diamonds playing across from each other. There is something about that book. Madison pondered before reaching her hand out to conjure the book towards her. “What are you doing? “ Following your suggestion. Madison answered. Doing a little research. Madison used her telekinesis to rapidly move the pages of the book, hoping to find answers to each of the girls’ enemies. “Wait a minute. Where did you get that book? “June said. “I mean I have skimmed through this library a million times and I never even seen that one,”

Erika couldn't answer what Lei said to the two of them, telling them the real story of the war that had killed Erika's parents. The title on the book's jacket read: Howard's Amazing Adventure- and according to the back cover, the book told the story of an alien rabbit that had accidentally broken into the earth. Crystal picked up the book, turned a few pages randomly, and finally put it down indifferently.
