Chapter 39 …MARIA.. “come to my office” I say during a phone call to Maggie, “why, I need to go shopping” she answers, sometimes, I envy her life, Maggie is a socialite who literally does nothing but spend her parents fortune, she doesn’t have to work her ass out like me as she is the youngest daughter of her family, the only sensible thing she does is modeling for huge companies, talk of a Neptune brat. “I will go shopping with you later, you just need to come here now” I say,

I wish she never tried to be a part of my life. Stepping out of the cottage, Cade helps me set it on fire. The fire won’t spread as we’ve spelled it, only to burn the house down. It will go out on its own when it’s turned everything to ash. Watching the flames lap at the cottage as smoke rises to the sky, I feel an odd sense of peace, knowing that Mags is gone and that her evil plans will never come to light. The coachman informed me. I left the carriage and walked towards the tower but one of the mages told me that Head Magus asked him to meet me here and bring me to the Rose Garden. CHIARA P.O.V. I look at the wide terrain, covered by a roof that is supported by robust wooden columns. I am in Bruno's beautiful garden, surrounded by vibrant fruits and vegetables. The orchard is 130 square meters in size, with neat rows of vegetable and fruit trees stretching as far as the eye can see. Magda asked me and Katharina to go to the garden to pick the vegetables before they rot, especially the tomatoes, Magda uses tomatoes a lot when she prepares food, she is a complete Italian.

The flute brought back unpleasant memories once again, but I pushed it to the back of my mind as I greeted her. Maggie wore a blue halter dress that reached her knees and flared at the waist. It had tiny crystals all over that glittered in the light. Stunning, but not overly done. I would’ve thought that the color wouldn’t have matched her flaming hair, but in fact it did and she looked just gorgeous. “Hey.” I smiled at her as she reached me. “Thanks for coming.” “Wouldn’t have missed it for the world.” Maggie grinned at me. “I’ve always heard the MacGyver’s gave a stunning party. Oh, I heard you’ll be breaking your seal today!”

We stepped onto the decking that houses the grill, a large table and chairs, and a few random plants. A pool house was at the far end next to a fair sized pool. And you could still get another house in the free space. I knew Jack and Maggie came from money, but holy fucking shit.

I chuckle, "Don't worry about it, Amelia, I know that you don't mean anything maliciously. Our life is different than how we expected it, but it's still good. Just like the life you and Maven have built here at the Renegade Pack is good." She smiles as she nods, "Yes, thank you for understanding." I chuckle as she stands up and goes to her mate. She's always so scared about hurting others' feelings, or maybe it's just my feelings, I'm not sure. She just always seems so cautious with her words, like she's trying to make sure that they are perfect. She was holding a dragon fruit in one head and changing the channel with the remote. As she heard the door slam behind her, she asked, “Can I turn around now?” Flushing, Alice asked in surprise when throwing a pillow at Maggie, “How did you get in here?” Maggie raised her hand and precisely caught the pillow. She spun around, smiled at Alice, and asked, “Did you know that our house balconies are connected? I stay right next door from you.”
