The Omega He Banished
The omega shuffled nervously to the side, avoiding my gaze.
"Thirty minutes are up," the first rogue growled, his voice a low rumble. "Where's this miracle cure you promised, healer?"
I swallowed, the dryness in my throat making it a chore. "Right here." I gestured to the crude wooden table in the center of the room. On it sat three chipped earthenware cups, each filled with the dark, murky concoction I had painstakingly prepared. The scent of bitter herbs and something else, something subtly metallic and dangerous, clung to the air.
