I waited, but it never came. I woke up again and felt myself cuddling with a hard pillow. I was still sleepy. I did not know why but I was tired. I was not able to open my eyes fully. But somehow, I managed to force myself to open my eyes. I looked at the man who saved my life in that house. The very man I had seen in my dreams twice. I cuddled up with him. More like wrapped around his body. I wanted to push him away but I did not even have strength to raise a finger to poke his arm.

I asked inwardly, still examining curiously. Then it clicked, the answer flashed through my mind. Series of my dreams for the past three years flashed into my mind And realization drew on my face as the face of the man in my dream became visible. “ It’s him” my eyes widened in disbelief. What the fuck!! This can’t be happening!! MY HANDSOME DREAM MAN IS REAL? I felt faint instantly. I couldn’t believe I was seeing clearly. My eyes swept on his entire body, like I was searching for something. Something to believe that I was actually seeing him and not a fragment of my imagination or dream.

He didn't turn back to face me when he answered, instead just held his hand out to show me the sleeping people. "We hook each of our customers to an I.V. that will keep your body nourished and our payment plan is set up so that you can simply have your Republic welfare checks sent to us." What he was basically saying, without coming right out, was that these people literally did nothing but dream. They opted to not work, so the government gave them a meager check every week to make up for outsourced and automated jobs. Usually, people would use this money for housing, food, and (more often than not) boost.

He seemed to be fading. “I’ll see you again, Jennah.” The buzzing grew louder. Jennah opened her eyes. Her alarm clock was going off. She reached over and slapped a hand on the snooze button and then focused to make sure she was in her room. She blew out a breath and tried to shake the fog from her mind.
