Chasing My Runaway Bride

Chasing My Runaway Bride

“You’re disgusting, you used me,” I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief, my voice shaking with emotion. “You’re a vile, selfish bastard, and I hope you rot in hell.” A twisted smile tugged at his lips, and for the first time, I saw him for what he truly was. “You’re so dramatic,” he said with a laugh. “You hate your father too, don’t you? You’ve always resented him. And now you’re upset because you caught me with another woman? Is that it? Jealous? You should have learned by now to share your husband with other women, Emma.” “Shut up!” I screamed, my voice breaking. He chuckled darkly. “Come on, Emma. Both your father and brother-in-law have been doing the same for years. It’s not that big of a deal, is it?” *** Emma, a powerful CEO, hires struggling actor Ryan to be her fake fiancé at her sister's wedding. Their staged romance turns real, but Emma discovers Ryan's betrayal and walks away with her head held high. Six years later, Ryan returns to win her back, unaware of the secret Emma is hiding and a dark threat is closing in. As threats loom, will they overcome the past, or lose everything? Can they survive the danger and reclaim their love, or will they lose everything? *** "Mum, where is my dad?” “I don’t know,” I lied. “But you don’t need to worry about that.” “But Mum, how can you not know? The boys said you must be a bad woman if you don’t know who my dad is,” James said, “Please tell me I have a dad.” he started sobbing. Shit!! My honeypot!! “You had one,” I said, my voice breaking. “But we lost him in an accident.”

It’s a good story, at least it started off good, and looked like it was going to be better, but then, there were more twists and turns than was needed. The author tried for angst but did not make it, instead evoked annoyance and irritation. It was like gooWTFd

Here below I wrote the wrong review so now I'm writing the correct one. The FL is so weak, I hope she can become stronger and at least be successful in her endeavours because her taste in men is not.The ML is so arrogant, I'm surprised he's even interested in her. Probably not going to finish it.

so far I'm enjoying this book very much. it has caught my attention. I'm hoping it will keep my attention. I've found that a lot of these ongoing books stop keeping my attention after while because they don't keep the story moving along they keep it like a daily journal and loose people's attention

Hating You is Exhausting

Liam, my stepbrother, has been a pain in the rear for three years. We fight every time we talk. Every time we see each other, we remember that moment, which we never talk about. The one in the yard behind where our parents had their wedding dinner. The event that almost made everything bad. Our parents are now going for a trip to celebrate their first anniversary, leaving us all alone in the house. Simple plan: we'll stay on different sides, ignore each other, and act like we're working. But then there's a fire on my side of the house, and all of a sudden I have to share a floor, a hallway, and a wall that is too thin to be safe with him. The worst times are at night. I hear him. I can feel him. And every disagreement ends too close. Every stare stays too long. Every breath turns into heat I can’t escape. We’re supposed to protect our parents’ happiness. We’re supposed to act like good brothers. But how do you pretend you hate someone when all you want is to drag him into your bed? Then the holidays arrive with our whole extended family. We’re forced to play perfect boys while nearly pulling each other apart behind locked doors. And just when I think things can’t get worse, Liam’s cheating ex shows up begging to take him back. The jealousy nearly wrecks me… and reveals everything. But the real disaster hits one night with a broken condom and a hurried hospital visit. Two scary weeks that make us imagine a life we’re not supposed to want. A future that feels too good to lose. The test is negative. But the damage is done. We want each other.

His Regret: The Woman He couldn't Break

His Regret: The Woman He couldn't Break

“Is trusting you a sin?” Hannah asked. “It wouldn't have been a sin if you were nothing but sand under my feet. You’ve always had it all—the grades, the charm, the spotlight. Teachers adored you. Boys wanted you. Even James, the only one I ever looked at like that, fell for you despite your boring look.” Her best friend’s laugh was dry. Cruel. Hannah’s heart squeezed, her breath catching in her throat. “You think you’ve won?” she said, voice shaking. “Because you slept with my husband and fed him lies?” “I don’t think, Hannah. I won.” “You didn’t win. You settled. You crawled into my leftovers and tried to wear my skin like it would turn you into something better—but it didn’t.” --- On her first wedding anniversary, Hannah Reyes was drugged—by her husband and her best friend. The betrayal shattered her world, and cost her the one thing she was holding onto: her unborn child. The next day, still lying in a hospital bed, her husband handed her divorce papers... then ordered her thrown out. Lost, bleeding, and alone, she was hit by a car. But fate wasn’t done with her yet.
