She swallowed before placing a hand on the sobbing woman's shoulders, "my name is Mary. What is your name?"
"Ejima," was all the woman said without breaking her attention from the corpse.
"This man, what is he to you"
Ejima sniffed, "he is my son"
"I see," Mary squeezed the woman's shoulders with assurance. "What I just told you is our limit. However, there is someone who can help this dead man."
The almond-skinned woman wiped her eyes again. If she believed any words Mary had said, her sorrowful expression did not show.
"Not even the gods can help a dead man, yet you say there is one? Who is that being?"
