“We were not sent to kill you.” The youngest hunter stared at him in disbelief. Rowan caught it. “You might want to explain that to your friend.” Matthias’s jaw tightened. “He acted without orders.” “He pointed a rifle at my chest.” “And he will answer for it.” “To whom?” Again, Matthias looked at Fen. Something unspoken passed between them. Rowan didn’t understand it, but Fen did. That certainty unsettled her more than the rifles. The second hunter slowly got to his feet, holding one arm against his ribs.

A taser gun. I stared at her wide eyed as she turned it on, her green eyes deflected the electricity as it crackled. "I met my mate, and I was made to reject him. You have no idea how it hurt, all because he was a rogue. And now, here you are , he's letting you live, finely. I won't let that happen, you're a fucking rogue and you deserve no mercy " she whispered quietly then she connected the taser with my neck, I screamed as my body shook viciously, the electricity coursing through my body. Mira couldn't help much, the wolfsbane had rendered me helpless.

Ricardo grinned, a nasty glint in his eye. "You do the honors," he said, stepping aside to give me a clear shot. My heart pounded so hard I could hear it in my ears. Ricardo clapped a hand on my shoulder. "Welldone.” Then he stepped past me and drove the butt of his gun into Matteo’s temple for good measure.
