“You bumped into me, remember?” he said coyly, looking back up at her.
“Yes, well, that wasn’t one of my more glamorous moments,” she said, lacing her fingers together on the table. “So you’re attracted to strange women who spill drinks on you? Have you considered therapy?” She gave him a pretend frown.
He laughed. “It was quite a memorable moment. Life has too few memorable moments, the kind that catch you off guard, by surprise.” He leaned forward as well. “You know that was an interesting day even before you bumped into me and doused me with hot liquid. Twice.”
