Lie

Lie

Triston’s palm slid up my thigh, trailing higher, his fingers hooking into the sides of my panties. I caught his hand. Our eyes locked. And something shifted. The air around us seemed to cool, and I felt the heat of his touch. Just for a second—but it was enough. The look in his eyes returned to a previous one. His grip faltered, the fabric touching my skin again. I let go of his hand, feeling a lump come to my throat. I saw it, then hesitated to look at his face. We were both drunk, but something seemed to come back to mind. The memory is bleeding into his face. His jaw tightened, a flicker of pain crossing his face, raw and exposed.

I was going to bottle it up in my mind and burn the memory of it in my ears so there was no possible way of me forgetting it. I traced my index finger over the ridges of his muscles, sliding down the dips and valleys that were more prominent now than they were a year ago. I ogled his skin that held a golden tan, licking my lips the way I wanted to lick my way down his body. Every bit of him. I was going to carve out a space in my mind and dedicate it to remembering every detail that made up this man so if this went south, I'd still have my vivid memories of him.

When I read books by this author they always play like a movie in my head. The details, the setting, the characters and the story line all flow so well. Such a talented writer. I am absolutely looking forward to reading "Jericho". Keep up the great work.

And like that, we were in front of my quarters at the east end of the long walkway. “Let’s get in,” he said. “Wow, a huge flat screen television, and is that a game console?” he asked, with a hint of excitement. “Yeah, it is a Playbox series R pro infinity edition” “What the heck is that!? What type of naming sense is that?” he replied, laughing hysterically. “Okay now, let’s get to class”. Then he said; “System, take us to the realm of infinity.”

"Lily. Listen dear, I know you are optimistic. But dear, I have lots of memories with my mama here. In this house, in the garden, in the backyard. Believe me, I can still see myself playing with my mother here and there. I can still feel her presence around me. How can I leave this place? Sicily has seen me growing. This place has seen me from my first cry to my first puberty. The streets of this city have seen my rash drive, my first achievement, my first laugh. This city made me who I am. The composed, calm girl. I will never forget this city." "Myra, once we get new memories, we learn to live with them. That doesn't mean that we have forgotten our past memories. That does mean that we can

I remember that day clear as day, we had just moved into our shared apartment although the place was as terrible as anything, she was still so happy and kept smiling, I just had to take a photo And here I am, 10 years later, staring at the same picture, still in love as I was back then, even more now. God, she really has my damn heart in a death grip. I wrenched off the headphones and flung them elsewhere, I need to get her back. I really need to. Blowing out a sigh again, I stood, heading for the minibar. I needed a drink, all this nostalgia makes my insomnia worse. I had just finished pouring a glass of bourbon when a knock sounded at my door, a soft female voice called through the wood “R

Memory Offering

Memory Offering

Three years had gone by, and here we were, still at the starting line. I lowered my head, not expecting anything anymore. I knew Eric would go back on his word the moment Tiffany shed a tear. So, they brought me to the pack's Sacred Hall, where the statue of the Moon Goddess stood tall in the center. The flame around the altar pulsed with a cold, piercing light. The elder overseeing the ritual looked grave as he warned me, "The Memory Offering is one of the oldest forbidden rites. It burns your wolf and projects your memories for all to see.

All hell broke loose. I could see the face of my younger self, begging him to stop. I could hear my cries, as he hit my head on the tiled floor multiple times. I could see red. The same red that colored my face right now, all around me. I begged myself to take my eyes off the girl in front of me, her face reminding me of all the nights I had cried myself to sleep. The bruises on her skin reminded me of everything I tried to forget. The hand prints on my neck, a clear reminder of the rough feel of his hands on me.

she whispered. "See, I knew you could do it," her grandmother replied. "But how?" Cadence asked. "How did I know that?" "Sweetheart, everyone's brain remembers everything. You just have to be able to access it. Yours works much more efficiently than other people's now. So, you should be able to pull memories back more quickly. " "Remarkable," she said under her breath. "It's no wonder I feel like I've known her for years..." "Hey, kid, you got a minute?"

she smiles at me. "Do you think someone can be incapable of loving?" "No," she chuckles, her gentle laughter echoing through the bedroom. "No?" I repeat her with a tilted head. "Man is the only kind on this Earth that can have this improved brain. We think, move, breathe, sleep... feel. Because of the brain. And the brain has the ability to store and remember lots of information, including memories. The brain is something truly unique. It can delete pieces of information that it considers as less important. But memories that left stronger feelings in you can be stored in the memory for long. Really long. That's why your grandma might remember in perfect detail
