I didn’t expect it to be this crowded. "One more thing." Alden reached into his jacket and produced a mask. Black, fine net. He held it out toward me. "It's a masked show. Nobody will know you are here." I took it from his hand and turned it over. “So tonight be whoever you want to be.” It sounded like the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. "Thank you." I said. He smiled slowly, his eyes darken as she leaned closer to my ear. "Don't thank me yet."

I gasped loudly, clapping my hands over my mouth and feeling my eyes widen as I took in his muscular hands that were wrapped around Alfred’s neck. What was he doing?! “What the fuck did you just say?” Michael roared again, starting toward the smug-looking Wolf before freezing in his steps when Alfred suddenly turned toward us. The beta was not wearing a mask, and his gaunt face was drawn and pale…like a skeleton. Had he always looked like that? “If the bitch had jumped like I fucking told her to then all this shit wouldn't have been so fucking complicated now would it?” He sneered and I was so shell-shocked that I didn't realize my mouth had fallen open.

I purred, my voice laced in sarcasm as I pouted my lips. “Aww... Poor, lonely Enzo.” He scowled, his deep voice cutting through the air. “Wear your damn mask.” I rolled my eyes and held my mask. It had a peacock design, with feathers affixed to the sides. Golden detailing lined the edges, giving it a delicate yet exotic look. I put it on, and it shielded my features, except for my eyes and lips. I turned to look at him. His mask was the design of a wolf, its expression a scowl just like the one he carried permanently on his face. The only covered parts of his face were his forehead and eyelids. His eyes, nose, and mouth were exposed.

Lovelyn's Pov I watched as Maya rushed out of the ward. "What just happened?" I asked as I faced Michael. "That's Maya for you, when she likes something, she chases after it till she gets it" he replied. "I've packed all our belongings so let's get going". "Hold on" he replied and brought out a mask then he wore it on his face. "What's with the mask?" "For people not to recognize me" he replied. "Seems your arrogance has reduced a bit" I said and he glared at me.

They took care to give the girls little fox masks, just like the ones in the game, before leaving with Anne and Yara. They didn't want the children's faces to appear online with all the cameras. There were bodyguards nearby the entire time. Even though there were many cosplayers, everyone turned to stare at Felicia as soon as she appeared. Every camera followed her as well.

Afternoon, outskirt of town. Theo was walking toward the town, while carrying the black brown bear on his shoulder. He was nearing the town, when one of the guard stop him," hey stop, where do you think you are going, carrying such big, without any compensation," the guard smirked and said to Theo.

Like she was empty of tears. "The mask was a gift from my mom, someone I thought I lost long before I lost my dad, I survived with an injury on my face that the doctors said would scar me. Everyone hated me after that, for taking away their alpha, for being weak and ugly." Lennox's hand came around her and held her close as she exposed more of herself. "The mask was a way of hiding my face so I don't disgust people but more than that it was what helped me stay close to my parents even when the wound was gone, I couldn't be without the mask."

Ashton It’s already ten o'clock in the evening. It took us almost four hours to drive before we reached our destination. When Zie and I got out of the car, a huge mansion is proudly flaunting in front of me. Zie held his shoulder again to me and I gladly wrapped my hand around his broad shoulder. When we were about to enter the mansion, Zie took out two black masks and gave it to me. "Do not remove that mask no matter what happens or no matter what you see inside do not make a scene." Zie reminded me. There was a slight nervousness in my chest as I put on the mask. What does he mean by not making a scene? Why would I make a scene?

Today is really an exhausting day, I want to sleep so bad right now, but I have to prepare all of the necessary stuff that we'd be using in the mission. I took my blazer off and placed it on the couch, and went upstairs to my room. I took some of my clothes and the gadgets that I'll need. I took my medical kits and placed them in a small bag. I took my other gadgets, such as an extra laptop, a smartphone with a secured line, an earpiece, and my handguns and flash grenades. We might not need it since we're going undercover at school, but it can still be risky. In a mission like this, anything can go wrong at any time, which is why we can never trust others and sometimes not even ourselves.

“He’s auctioning kids, Marcus! What the fuck is going on?” We had already put on the masks Marcus had procured from the trunk of his car – simple, elegant black half-masks that covered our eyes, common enough in these high-society, illicit gatherings to not draw attention.
