Still, I’m sure it’s never going to be easy for him, I’m already dreading the day my child will want to leave and there not even born yet. ‘Can I cut in?’ Maccario asks my father who looks at me uncertain, before anyone can answer Zac is back by my side. ‘No, Zelda love we need to go,’ his tone is cold and firm as he address Maccario his hand falls back by his side, dad shakes his head somewhat amused by Zac possessiveness. His voice and eyes soften as he looks at me taking my hand and pulling me close as he holds me tight protectively. I can feel his anger at Maccario rising and I’m certain he is scowling at him, the thought makes me chuckle.

he demands striding towards me and staring deep into my eyes. "What?" I question in a shaky voice. Michael closes his eyes before he replies to me. "They gutted him like a fish. They didn't give a fuck if he had kids, or plans for them. Your husband's family took away the life from my father's life," he finishes and I flinch, tears brimming out of my eyes. "Is that what you plotted to make me leave Zane? You had a plan all along?" I throw out anger seeping through my voice.

We stopped in front of a tall figure with his back turned, speaking to a group of professors. "Zander," my father called. The man turned around. Our eyes met. And the world tilted. "Zander," my father said proudly, turning me to face him fully, "this is my daughter, Kiara. Kiara, this is Zander Creed, my longtime friend from college. We've kept in touch over the years by phone, but we haven't seen each other face-to-face in years. He's the CEO of Creed Industries and the chair of the new mentorship program."

~ MILENA ~ The next day Zaia organised a barbeque where she had called their family and friends which consists of Alpha Payne, his Luna Adriana, and their three kids; 17-year-old Lance, 15-year-old Arabella and 14-year-old Landon. And of course Zade Toussaint, his Luna Valerie, and their kids; 17-year-old Ryder, 16-year-old Axel, 15-year-old Nash and 13-year-old Blair.

At that moment, something clicked in my head. “ Let's change the style,” I said. I felt my stomach flustered as soon as I said those words. Everything about what I was doing felt wrong. I didn't really know him, but I felt every inch of familiarity. Despite the fact that we were both having that goddamm sexy night together, the question still remained at the back of my head. If he is Zarchios, where is Michelle? And my father? Why did he suddenly disappear with them? Why was he acting so strange like a rich man's butler?

he says when I nearly drop an egg on the floor. “I never said I was good at it.” I salvage the egg and add it to the bowl. “My mom used to cook. My dad and I were just... there.” The words slip out before I can stop them. I never talk about my parents, never let anyone close enough to those memories. The memories make my eyes burn with tears but I blink them back. Zane just nods, like he understands. “My mom died from cancer when I was eight. My father never cooked after that. He said it reminded him too much of her,” he explains to me and I can't help but feel sorry for him.

For instance, they shared responsibilities, like taking care of Lizzy, so she ate at his place and stayed there. When he treated Lizzy to cake, he'd bring a piece for her too. But he wouldn't buy her keyboards or game consoles just for Lizzy. Nor would he assist her with academic issues for Lizzy's sake. He definitely wouldn't risk revealing that Lizzy was born out of wedlock while supporting Michelle in her career endeavors. Observing the father-daughter duo seated side by side on the couch, engrossed in the cartoon, Michelle felt a wave of complex emotions—more intense than when she saw her early fans defending her honor online after she retired from writing.

"Is something wrong?" "Today-It's my Father's Birthday. It's been a little rough with it being his first one gone."He leaned against the counter with a sigh."Usually we would be sipping beers together by now." I gave Zachary a sympathetic smile. "Michelle mentioned that your Father had passed,I'm sorry. You two must have been close?" "Close enough. He was strong my Dad, I thought he was resilient, like nothing could ever take him down."He swigged his beer and set it back down."How very wrong I was!"

"You'll only find rich and handsome guys in our family." Darren had chimed in, "Zac, I think your dad is pretty handsome." Zachary had been confused. "My dad?" "Yeah—the guy who talked to the principal," Darren had said matter-of-factly. Malcolm had hurriedly corrected him, "That's nonsense. That man is Mr. Tristan; he isn't Zac's dad. Mr. Tristan's last name is Shaw. It's different from Zachary's last name. They can't be father and son."

Behind her, Zayne spoke in a low but firm voice. “You can bring Michella over tomorrow. She should stay somewhere else tonight.” Zayne caught up to her, wrapping an arm around her waist possessively. “I know you’re upset, but please calm down, sweetheart.” Inside the car, everything Elmy had been holding back finally broke. She cried in Zayne’s arms. “How could Dad do this to me and Mom? How, Zayne?” “I didn’t expect him to go this far either,” Zayne murmured against the top of her head, gently patting her trembling shoulder.
