I was also close to August who suddenly picked up an interest in chess and requested I teach him how to study people. "The human mind is a wonderful, fickle and unpredicatable universe that can never be comprehended like the soil we step on. We may not have much understanding of it but the little we know, we should be content or you could lose your sanity like I lost mine." I explained as I dropped my cup of tea on the table after a careful sip. "I must delicate, the teas are most amazing. In heavens did you buy such a wonderful tea?" I asked as August smiled and moved his bishop to a terrible position just to cut off a queen whose role was already over.

I said. " Then your mind must be playing games with you." She said as she dragged me out of the room. Games... That word lingered in my mind for a long time. But for the quick movement I noticed, I knew my mind wasn't lying. Someone was indeed in the room with us..... I just need to find out who. . . . Xander's P. O. V

"Goliaths, coming hard and fast!" "I hear you, I'm coming to cover!" "Keep it together, guys. We're winning!" "How many mechs do they have?" A whole crowd was yelling in my right ear. However, my brain rebooted quickly and the events prior flooded my mind in a wave of distress. It wasn't a crowd shouting, it was my comms earpiece.

The first was cards, the second was chess, and the third was shoots and ladders. I was busy racking my brain for old games. I couldn’t come up with a lot of them. I’m in my twenties and didn’t play many old board games. So, of course, my enemy, an old bitch, would know more archaic games. It does make preparing for this next level difficult. “Think, Tie. What kind of boring games did Nonno like to play?” I tapped my head, trying to jog my memory. “I know a good game.” A voice that made the hairs on my neck stand up and my stomach churn in disgust called out to me.

“Walang matutulog.” “Kaya siguro ang pangit mo na,” balik niya. “One game na para matapos na.” Actually, playing is a better way of distracting herself rather than watching. When playing, her mind’s just focused on it as she’s physically engaged in the game, but when she’s watching, her mind can drift off to so many places because she’s just there watching. Mas mabuti na ang ganito.

waved the farmer. Zen looked at the life-sized reverse minesweeper grids before him and set the basket down. Unlike some people's beliefs, it was a game using logic. The rules were simple, and Zen hoped he would clear this in less time than it took him to repair the other field.

Looking all serious and fired up like they were battling for their lives. A deck of cards was brought out and the young man shuffled through. I thought it was Blackjack or a game of Spades but I was wrong. It was an entirely different game, one I had never seen before, it read, “Merger and Acquisition.” “What kind of game is this?" I thought again inwardly. The lady spoke after, saying, “Anyone who chooses to leave can do so in the next five minutes before the game begins.”

I made Jax and I to learn strategies to engage with her, focusing on the present moment rather than dwelling on the past. I discovered that music had a profound effect on her, stirring fragments of forgotten memories buried deep within her mind. I created playlists filled with her favorite songs from different eras, hoping to unlock a door to the past. As we sat together, I held her hand, watching as her eyes lit up with a glimmer of recognition, her voice recounting stories from her youth, even if she couldn't recall their details or the people involved. She told stories of my mum, her sister and of me sometimes not knowing that I was the one.

Tobi said, trying to hug her, but Rainer moved out of reach and said, "I can't really say the same about you, so can you just skip the pleasantries and let's just get on with our game?" "Sure, I'm definitely going to win, I'll start the game. Concentration is the best, I go first and Muna's next. Confusion!" Tobi started. "Compulsion," Muna said. "Addition!" Olive said. "Communication," my Dad said. "Contraction," my Mum laughed. "Relaxation," Mr Rowland said. "Conception!" Oyinda yelled. "Commotion," came Michael. "Starvation," Flint said.
