She held up an obsidian mirror, its surface rippling like liquid, revealing distorted visions of Meranthia's landscapes being engulfed in darkness and chaos. As they watched in horror, the mirror's edge expanded, its dark expanse stretching out towards them, threatening to swallow them whole. Nocturna's laughter, cold and mocking, rang out as the world around the guardians began to crumble, plunging them into the abyss of the unknown.

CRACK It only took two whips until I was screaming in pain; the silver stripped me of my skin with each hit. And by the time he reached ten, I was losing consciousness, but I couldn’t rest my head from the silver collar that was around my throat. The silver burned my skin, which helped me keep my eyes open. My blood splattered the walls, and I could feel the warmth dripping down my body. I cried loudly; the sound was so animistic as I panted. I looked up to see the spider still on the wall as I lowered my head and cried.

She landed in the corrupted archive—the twisted remains of the old system’s memory core. Data fragments floated around like ash. Mira rose slowly, heart pounding.

Ruby's gaze was glued to the screen, her body shaking as if she had seen a ghost. "You don't have to sign," I said, my voice a chilling whisper. “I’m not here to win, Sarah. I’m here to take back what has always been mine.” Sarah’s gaze shifted to the mirror hanging on the wall. Her face contorted with fury as she drew back her fist and slammed it into the glass. The mirror cracked, fractures spreading across the surface like spider webs. Blood welled on her knuckles where glass had cut skin. I looked at the mirror, seeing my own reflection broken into pieces. Fragmented versions of myself staring back from different angles. Sarah’s voice came out low, dangerous. “That reflection… broken into pieces… that’s how you’ll end in this war.”

Her voice was soft but firm: “Then let us complete it. Together.” My heart was hammered. “We will.” The figure nodded. Then pointed downward. “Inside the lake.” The water glowed. The surface parted as though air, revealing stone steps descending. The reflection world lay beneath a mirror of this valley, but darker, twisted, still. “Step inside,” she said. “The fracture lies beneath. You must face it.” I glanced at Kale. He gave a curt nod. One by one, we descended into the mirror world. The water closed behind us. The standing stones above glowed briefly, then dimmed.
