“How much did you miss me?” “Very, very much! If every time I miss you is a grain of sand, then all of the times that I miss you can converge into the Sahara Desert!”

I wink. I still find it hard to get my head around I am what helped inspire her for her new book. Arya lets out a loud sigh, “I miss you. I had gotten so used to seeing you every day and sleeping next to you every night. Being apart from you is torture.” I can hear the sadness in her voice. “I miss you too, angel, so damn much! I wish you were here or I was there. We just need to get through the next few days, and we will be reunited.” I reply, sadness in my tone too.

I believe my absence and the fact I stopped updating for a long period has made me lose my readers, no one is reading again and this is really painful. I've been trying to continue this novel but I have no motivation to do so, I thought I could just wrap it up before the end of this year, but I don't think that is possible again. I am really really sorry, I wish I could have prevented everything I went through, my readers are gone. R A D I S H is shutting down, and my books will be taking down by ending of the year. As you have said before, I have a reputation, and I certainly release my prisoners when I’m through with them.” He studied her over the rim of his cup. “You seem in a hurry to leave.” “Of course I am.” “You mentioned earlier you were on your way to Plymouth to settle your father’s affairs.” “Yes.” “Tell me how he died.”

Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, My Perfect Mess. My Perfect Mess was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Though you can enjoy the story in its interactive format too as currently published. (eg when Becca speaks, the format will be as this: Becca ~ “What is there to explain, Matt.”)

My phone buzzed and it took me out of how I was straining my ears to hear their movement. If was Miles. Miles: Can't stop thinking about today. About you. Is it weird to say I miss you already? My chest tightened. I typed back: Not weird. I miss you too. And I did. That was the fucked up part. I genuinely missed him. Missed his easy conversation and genuine smile and the way he made me feel like maybe I could be someone better. I set the phone face-down and tried to make my mind quiet. Tried to review Nina's contracts. Made it through three sentences before my attention drifted.

Mom’s hand reached across the table, touching mine. “Say it,” she whispered. I swallowed hard. The lump in my throat felt like stone. I looked at Cassandra. Her eyes finally met mine. Raw. Waiting. The words slipped out, soft, trembling. “I miss you.” The words hung in the air like smoke. Cassandra didn’t move. She didn’t speak. Her face was unreadable. My heart pounded so loud I could hear it in my ears. Had I made a mistake? Had I given her a weapon to use against me? Or had I just opened a door that had been locked too long?
