Ibuku pergi berwisata ke Kota Xaver dan pulang membawa patung dewa ular. Katanya, patung itu harus disembah dengan darah menstruasi gadis perawan agar bisa membuat awet muda. Dia memaksaku memberikan darahku untuk patung itu, bahkan memotong rambutku dan melilitkannya di kepala ular. Aku tak berani memberitahu ibuku kalau aku diam-diam pernah menginap di hotel bersama pacarku waktu kuliah. I felt weightless and boneless. Every nerve in my body tuned to him. He was too much. “Are you finally free?” I asked, my voice shaky from how turned on I was. “I’m not, little flame,” he said, biting my ear and licking the same spot after. “But for tonight? You have me all to yourself.” “Sounds exciting,” I breathed. “It is. Are you wet yet?” he whispered, voice like molten sin. “I am. Very.” “Good,” he murmured. “Stay like that all night. Hingga berpuluh tahun kemudian, ketika ada serombongan kecil mahasiswa yang datang karena ingin mendaki gunung dan malah tersesat di rumah milik Sebastiaan Van de Kroft tersebut dan tidak bisa keluar lagi Suasana mencekam begitu terasa di rumah itu, terlebih saat satu per satu dari mereka harus menerima berbagai teror yang membahayakan nyawa.
