He just cried harder, face red, fists pounding the floor.
I knelt beside him quickly and pulled him into my arms. His little body was shaking.
“Shh,” I whispered, rocking him gently. “Shh, it’s okay. Mama’s here.”
When I looked again, the glow was gone.
His eyes were normal.
