Abey looked down at her Grandfather. The Chief wandered close by. “This is a bad omen, you must leave. You are plagued by Shadows, scat, scat.” he hissed at her.

As we head their way, I glance around and observe that other teams are already gathering together in their respective sections. I observe a handful of them looking our way—or, more specifically, at Atticus. As I look around us in the vast space, I observe shrubs shaped like wolves. And each wolf took on a distinct appearance than the others. One appears to be resting, another seems to be ready to pounce, and another appears to be pursuing something in the air.

The ambush was perfectly coordinated and utterly devastating. Dozens of hostile figures exploded from concealment in the surrounding shadows like demons erupting from hell itself. Vampires with glowing crimson eyes moved like living mist, their supernatural speed making them nearly impossible to track visually. Behind them surged corrupted shadow-wolves, their howls ragged and twisted into sounds that no natural creature should ever make, their forms grotesquely enhanced by dark magic until they resembled monsters from a nightmare rather than any recognizable species. "Defensive formation!" Kai barked with the authority of a born commander.

The Battle Begins The Shadow Beast didn't just arrive. It smashed through our outer defenses like they were made of paper. I heard the screams first. Then the crashing. Then I saw it. "Oh my god." It was massive—easily twenty feet tall, made of writhing shadows that seemed to eat the light around them. Red eyes like burning coals. Claws that left tears in the air itself when it moved. And it was heading straight for me. "“EVERYONE FALL BACK!” Damon shouted. "GET TO SECONDARY POSITIONS NOW!"

Their path led them to a massive shadowy fortress, its walls seemingly made of solidified darkness. “The Shadow Relic is inside,” Allan confirmed. “But we need to be careful. This fortress is heavily guarded.” As they approached the fortress, they encountered more wraiths, their attacks becoming more coordinated and intense. The team fought with everything they had, their powers pushing back the relentless assault. Kai’s eyes blazed with determination as he led the charge into the fortress. The interior was a labyrinth of shadowy corridors and shifting walls, designed to confuse and disorient. Allan’s shadow manipulation guided them, his control over the darkness creating a clear path.

I opened the earth behind him, making him fall into a deep bit. The ghouls closed the space, not allowing a minute of rest. They lunged at Ares, Liam, Nova and Auggie at once. I was happy to see their shadows curl up like tentacles around them, wrapping and throwing away every ghoul that made their way to them.Nova stuck close to Auggie, almost appearing like she had her own shadow to control. The baby in my arms began to cry, causing the attention of some ghouls. I rocked her, hoping to calm her, but it was too late. 10 ghouls were already heading our way.

It was a pathetic and undeniable craven existence but it was how they were winning the war. Dave let out a sigh. "No. He used a HG blade." I nodded. A brilliant man named Henry Gomez spent his life developing a UV spiked, but essentially silver based liquid that could be applied to any metallic object, leaving a coat of active poison that would kill both shade and host upon entering the their shared body. It was the ghoul that Ling Mao mentioned. It started from hand, legs soon bald head and sharp ears could be seen, along with fangs and red bloodshot eyes.

'' Grey walked slowly towards Ryder. ''Now, tell me, Ryder Radstille. Where is your main army?'' Ryder didn't speak. ''You better hurry up. See that beast over there?'' He pointed to the jelly black monster. ''That's Fulor, another specie of the Shadow.'' Ryder clenched his fists. ''You created another monster.'' ''Oh, yes, because that's what Hearth does according to your narrative.''

What the hell is she talking about? She nodded, "yes Kate. Shadow monsters, they are wild and dangerous. They have been causing havoc in our world for two hundred years now. The vampire's do not stand a chance against them, not to speak of a mere human like you." I was already spouting a headache because of the bullshit this woman is spilling. What the hell is shadow monsters? It sounds like something gotten out of an animation. This woman must like watching a lot of movies, but I decided not to argue and just play along. When the time is right, I will find my way out of here and return home to my mother.
