I didn't wait for him to argue. I kissed Leo’s forehead and handed him to Rowan. Then, I snapped my wings open. They weren't gold anymore. They were a deep, bloody red, dripping with sparks of fire.
I flew straight up into the purple sky, heading for the largest of the three eyes.
"Come and get me!" I roared.
A silver ship, miles long, began to descend from the clouds. But as I flew toward it, a second ship appeared from the dark side of the moon. It wasn't silver. It was black and gold, and it was firing weapons that looked like stars.
