Confusion was plastered all over their faces. When they heard another scream, Aria's eyes widened as she recognized the voice. Mrs. France recognized it too and raced back to where they came from. As soon as they went back to the room, Mrs. France's scream filled the whole basement as she saw Lizzie - lying in a pool of blood.

I answered it, pulling the phone to my ear in a panic, only to have to pull it away again as the screaming on the other end of the line threatened to deafen me. "Scream for me, Elodie. Let them hear you in the city." She did. She screamed until her throat was raw, the sound echoing off the salt walls, bouncing back at them. The climax hit her like a secondary explosion—a white-hot wave that made her vision splinter. Victor let out a guttural roar, his body tensing, his weight collapsing onto her as he filled her with his heat.
