Herrick's Pov My paws hit the mud, creating loud sounds as I marched forward to the area which was supposed to be a safe place to roam around without having to worry about any other wolves as said by Lucian.My eyes scanned the surroundings to make sure there's no danger.I let my wolf relax as I launched forward in excitement, my wolf was out after a long time that it made me almost lose control, resulting in bumping into the tree with a loud thud sound.I fell backwards, groaning slightly.My vision was blurred for a millisecond which cleared and my eyes widen as I noticed the tree falling right above me as it cracked because of how hard I bumped into it.

I pick it up in my arms, scrambling back to the tree. I crawl in the space again, both of us wet and shivering and I curl around the small life in my arms.

The mud softened to a murky sludge as she neared the water’s edge and her paws squished into the mud burying her toes leaving deep imprints she grimaced at. After a few more grudging steps she felt her back-end slip underneath her, causing her rump to land in the wet, slimy mud with a splash. She heard a chattering in the bushes behind her that sounded like laughing. Slowly, she pulled her weak and shaky legs back under her and stepped toward the water more carefully, swallowing her humiliation. Wolves were supposed to be regal hunters in the forest, yet here she was, ragged prey.
