I say, irked by her little jabs.
“I happen to find mice much nicer than rats, and let’s face it, your family has their share of rats.” She calmly states, arching her brow, daring me to talk back.
I tilt my head back and sigh, mentally rolling my eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Frankly, I think calling them rats is actually demeaning to rats, but whatever, can we get on with what you want to tell me?” I say impatiently.
She chuckles, mumbling ‘good point’ before taking a deep breath.
