He had given Aisha a nickname, "yarinyan" meaning girl in Hausa where Aisha is from. We all went to sit with them. "Jazzjo, How far na?" (Jasmine and Joan how are you?) That was how he referred to I and Jasmine.

She tried to deny but Ademide wasn't going to buy the lie, she already knew the fact and was holding unto that. "When am I meeting him? He needs to pay bride price to his inlaws." She joked. Ben just smiled, she loved her sister's sense of humor. "And his name, I'm kinda confused. Why does he bear Roshan, is he Hausa?" Ademide asked for better clarification. "He's Hausa and he bears Roshan cos he's a Muslim." She said unapologetically, though part of her secretly feared Ademide would be against her decision of being with a Muslim man.

They - Lash and Zulqa - entered the venue which was decorated in the traditional Fulani theme with Halima, Hassana, Hussaina and Qifdiyya tailing behind them all holding calabashes filled with fresh whole milk which Fulani call kindirmo and another traditional food made with millet called fura. Lash sat beside Zulqa and the event started. Towards the end, Lash fed Zulqa the Kindirmo and fura and he did the same too. The fifth event was the kauyawa day which they decided to call Hausawa day. It was conducted in favor of Lash because even though she's not entirely sure, she believes she's Hausa by tribe.

I told my mother's house help. Nusaiba is a 22-year-old girl from Zamfara whom my mother took in as her house help after the demise of her father due to a serious illness. My mother loved her so much and took her in like her own daughter. Since my mother loved her so much for her hard work and truthfulness, I sponsored her education from primary school until her university.
