“Okay, Mom. You know I’m still young, but… can you help me protect someone? When I’m older, I’ll protect you. I’ve already started training.”
Now I’m curious, Light,” I say, tilting my head. “Who is it you want to protect?”
“I’ll tell you… after you promise,” he says, eyes sharp, voice steady in a way that doesn’t belong to a child.
“Light,” I murmur, half‑smiling. “I don’t like this version of you. I prefer the one who’s soft—and teasing—and all grown‑up when he’s with Lunara.”
He glances away. “About that,” he says quietly. “I told her to give me space. I’ll see her when I’m done with things at hand.”
