Naya swings behind me and wraps an arm around my neck going for a headlock, or at least I think she is so I try to break her hold until I feel the pricks of claws around my throat. I freeze. Aura’s pov The indescribable pain was cursing through my blood vessels. They said that your first shift is always hard and painful but this is way too painful then I have ever thought. The bones were arranged in a different skeleton and the skin grew furry hair on my body. When I opened my eyes, I noticed my white claws instead of hands and sharp talons instead of nails. The she-wolf, who was fighting with me earlier, shifted quickly to fight with me. I was new to this power but I knew that I could take her down. I could sense her moves and dodged them easily.

Naya was already growling and I immediately got off her and put some distance between us. “Naya! Stop!” Her eyes were not moving from me and I could see her claws slowly coming out. “Naya, halt!” It was like the command was her trigger, she lunged at me with her claws fully out, aiming at my face. I covered my face with my hands, waiting for the worst to happen.

The wolves submit, and I only planned to calm them down, but I didn’t expect my presence to calm others too. They didn’t bow, but they did relax. I turn to Elias; His eyes hold mine, and I nod, silently telling him he can address the crowd now.
