I replied. Some things, once seen clearly, can never be forgotten.

I nodded slowly because that explanation made sense in a way that settled the last bit of unease inside me. “What unsettled me more,” I continued, “was realizing how quickly you noticed it before I even understood what was happening to myself.” His eyes remained on me. “I pay attention to you.” “I know,” I replied softly, “and today made me realize how much.” For a brief moment, neither of us spoke, but the silence did not feel heavy or awkward. It felt like a pause in a conversation that had been ongoing all day without us realizing it. “Your friends noticed it too,” I added after a while. “They weren’t just curious about me, they were studying you.”

I did not care. Twenty minutes later he left. I noticed. I noticed the moment he stood up. I noticed the way he gathered his things and said something to his friends and slung his bag over his shoulder. I noticed that he did not look at me on his way out. He walked past our table without glancing in my direction and the door closed behind him and he was gone. I realized I had been holding my breath. I let it out. Chloe and Maya were still talking. They had not noticed anything. They had not noticed him come in or leave or the way my eyes had drifted across the room four times in twenty minutes. They were in their own world.

Interesting. She adjusted her stance again, subtle but intentional, giving him a clearer view. The kind of presence that usually drew attention without effort. Still nothing. Not even a glance. For the first time, something unfamiliar crept into her thoughts. She wasn’t used to this. Not used to being overlooked. She waited a moment longer, her patience holding as she observed him closely now. Maybe he had noticed and simply hadn’t reacted yet. That happened sometimes. Rarely. But sometimes. Another minute passed.

No idea, but I can't stay asleep, life has taught me in one way or another that if it catches you flying low it hits you where it hurts the most and I don't want to keep suffering for those things, I just like to think that I'm not weak, even if deep down, I'm still the same little girl. I arrived with my parents, I assumed they were near the vehicle, so I entered the nearest restaurant and asked for them, we always ate there, so it was easy for them to recognize us, as I already suspected they were there, I entered the place to sit next to them, I did not eat, but I drank a juice, I was thirsty. I checked my phone to see if that guy had answered me again, I don't know why Leonardo intrigued

I followed closely behind. As I hurried to keep pace with Logan, I couldn’t help but wonder if he noticed Amy’s obvious attempts to get his attention. My phone buzzed, and I saw Carl's name flashing. I reluctantly cut the call. I had been ignoring Carl for days now, due to work pressure. I would make up to him. I promised myself.

Across the street, a familiar car idled before pulling away. Damon noticed. He always noticed. But he didn’t react. People who rushed revealed themselves too early. And Damon wasn’t in a hurry.
