He stopped before her, so close she could feel the heat radiating from his body. He smelled of smoke and dark spices, a scent that was uniquely his and that made her head spin. He reached out, not touching her, but tracing the line of her jaw in the air. A spark of static electricity jumped between them, and she gasped.
“You are my masterpiece, Saskia,” he whispered, his silver eyes burning into hers. “Every note you play is a reflection of my will. But lately I hear something else. I hear you.”
