An hour later, the villa is quiet again. Guards rotate shifts. The storm clouds move out, leaving a clear, starless sky. I move through the corridors in silence, each step rehearsed, controlled. My hand brushes the walls where I’ve hidden the bugs — small, invisible, powerful.
By the time I reach the east wing, my pulse has slowed. I listen. Nothing.
Then, faintly, a voice—hers.
“…I have everything under control.”
