Her form flickers, glitching in and out as the realm collapses around her.
“You… have made a grave mistake,” she rasps, voice layered and broken. “You are fragments. You cannot exist outside my design.”
“Oh shut up,” I growl, adjusting my grip on Aria. “If your design was so flawless, we wouldn’t be standing here.”
Her eyes flash.
“You have not won.”
“We will,” I bite out, “the moment we get out of your fake little heaven.”
Another crack splits the floor behind us, wide enough to swallow a tree. Wind rushes upward, pulling at our clothes, our hair, our skin like gravity is reversing, like the realm is sucking in its breath before devouring us whole.
