EMILY'S POV A Week Later “The king and the queen and their little princess lived happily ever after,” I said softly as I closed the book, hoping Nina would finally fall asleep. But her bright eyes were still wide open. She looked more awake than before. “Really? Did they live happily ever after?” she asked, staring at me. “Of course,” I replied gently. “I can even show you if you don’t believe me.” Instead of answering, she turned her attention back to the book for a moment, then sat up again, looking sad.

She valued her space and was almost always at the mountain, for she felt so free there. Nuala heard the wolves howl and she knew they were there for her. She thought real hard and had planned to runaway to keep everyone safe. And so she was ready to leave Greiner for good. She closed her eyes and saw her mother screaming her name. Her cute voice warms my insides as always and for a moment I find myself trying to imagine how it will feel when I hear her call me Dad for the first time or hell, any time for that matter. "Riley! Riley!" Nina's little voice pulls my attention back to the room. "Sorry, Princess. I was... just thinking about something." She tilts her head to the side while giving me a curious look. "What were you thinking about?" Of course, I can't tell her the truth right now so instead, I opt for something playful. "I was just thinking about rainbows and unicorns ohh and fairies!" “That's exactly what we needed right?” “No.” The first man looked toward the building. “This was a distraction. Winnie did not seem at all bothered by the entire fiasco. She said to Nina encouragingly, "It's okay. Just do your best." Nina closed her eyes and calmed herself. Then, she nodded to herself and opened her eyes again. The usual uneasiness in her eyes was now replaced with determination. She moved her fingers, playing a smooth melody. It was a familiar piece—"The Swan." In her music, the beautiful swan danced and played on the surface of the lake. As the sun rose, it spread its wings under the light of the graceful dawn.

Nina's pov Nina went to the bathroom crying. She looked at her own reflection in the mirror. She touched her face and noticed allthe little details of her face. She had dark circles under her eyes and her body was now too thin. She kept looking at the mirror for a while and thought that maybe its her fault that Damon is cheating on her. If she was more beautiful then Damon would never go to another women.
