A simple thud echoed throughout the plaza. Cole was sent flying back to where he once stood, struggling to stabilize himself. The machete in his hand was somehow trembling. "How is this possible?" Cole was frozen from shock as he had always assumed he was the strongest person within Naporia. Not even Aster and Avery were a match for him. He quickly realized that he was no match for Caspian. It only pained him further as he watched Caspian act calm and even look bored of their fight.

I wondered what he was looking for. Out of nowhere, a dagger blasted in from the side of the room, and Cole barely dodged it by jumping to the side. My head snapped back in the direction the dagger came from to see Joey standing against the wall, but before either of us could move, he stepped into the shadows and vanished before my eyes. I blinked my eyes, making sure that I was not imagining the scene, and glanced over at Cole. He used his power to lift and retrieve the dagger before doing the same as Joey and disappearing into the small crevices in the darkness.

After ten minutes of waiting, we saw a really handsome guy walking towards us and I guessed that was their ruler. “Jake, he is here, are you ready?” I whisper to him. “Hey Jake, I am sorry for the wait.” He says to Jake. “Hey cuz, this is Jolene, the Ruler of the Lycans. Jolene, this is my cousin, I told you he was coming, remember?”

Cole looked around and realized there had been a second car. ‘Kip left with Nora, I was able to get Taylor.” Matt answered Cole’s reaction. A loud growl erupted through Jace, it was blood cluring. The kind of an animal in pain, it made Matt’s hair stand on end. Cole’s lips pulled back revealing his long sharp teeth as he moved closer to Taylor. Cole wanted blood, wanted to rip him from limb to limb. Wait, we could use him. Jace said to Cole. Kill him. Cole growled back.

I asked, sipping from the cup. Jake grinned. “I know enough.” And then, a presence joined us. Cole. He had gone to chat with some other crew members, and now that he was back. He didn’t sit down immediately. He just stood beside me and his presence made my breath catch. Then he finally moved and sat down on my other side. His body brushed mine and it sent a jolt of heat through me. Jake lifted his glass up, like he was making a fake toast. “Well, look at that. The silent protector has come back.”

Not having any atom of patience at all to wait even if they would wake up in the next second, I poured them the bucket of salted ice that Blade had already prepared before now. "The fuck!"
