Rhett looked shocked and stood like a statue staring at me, while Harrison and the rest of the groomsmen were looking around at each other and back at me, almost in a comical fashion, all baffled at my answer.
I tightened my hold on Rhett’s hands and told him, “I don’t think either of us truly wants to go through with this wedding. Neither of us is in it one hundred percent, and that’s not how it’s supposed to be. Both of us have lingering eyes, and that’s not how it’s supposed to be.”
He swallowed nervously as I said that.
“I love you, Rhett, and I know you love me, but I think you love me in a different way than you should to be standing up here with me.”
