“I love this song. But it’s sad. You’re not taking me somewhere depressing, are you?”
“You’re terrible at guessing.”
Ten wrong guesses later, the car rolled into a neon-lit space buzzing with flashing lights and the clatter of game tokens.
I stared at the glowing sign. “No way. The clue was literally the song title?”
“I told you where we were going,” he said, grinning.
“I was listening to the lyrics, trying to crack some deep metaphor.”
He stepped out and opened my door. “That’s your problem. Sometimes the answer’s sitting right on the surface.”
