A good connection between writer and editor makes a huge difference in the editing process. Don’t stress your first draft. Generating the first draft is an exercise in getting everything down that you can get down. There’s always time later to reassess and comb through what you’ve generated. Resist the urge to do repeated dives into the thesaurus or to constantly refresh your word count. The first draft of a book needs to arise from spontaneity. Later on, you can obsess over whether you chose the right word or used too many exclamation points. That kind of self-editing will only be needed once you have a great story to tell in the first place.

But he had written it. And writing it was something. Writing it was taking the thing that had lived inside him for ten years and giving it an external form, and the external form could be revised, and revision was the first step toward something he did not yet have a word for but was beginning, cautiously, to believe might be possible. He opened the laptop again. He saved the draft.

He reads with complete stillness and complete attention. When he finishes he sets the pad on the desk and he looks at me. "This is what I hoped it would be," he says. "It's a first draft," I say. "It's rough in places." "I know what a first draft is," he says. "This is what I hoped it would be. It sounds like him, as you've described him to me. It sounds like someone telling the truth without any version of apologizing for the truth."

This is my very first book that I wrote, first of everything. I didn't know anything about writing so please keep that in mind ㋡ . As some might be in wrong grammar or not the correct phrases, Please bare with me as this is my only way of releasing stress and wheny thoughts were wondering . 🙂 Please be kinder with side comments as I am willing to learn and can be corrected. Some of the events for the entire story will be non fictional and fictional as some charecteristics and stories were based on my daily life experience.

"I did the same thing to my ex, but we broke up on good terms. I didn't hide that from you, did I? You accepted my imperfections then, but somehow, you decided that I wasn't good enough for you. Tell me, what was your purpose when you first got in touch with me?" Jake was stunned for a moment. "Nothing in particular, really. I just liked you, and I fell in love with you. I wanted to be with you forever, but my friends were talking about their first time, and I realized I didn't get to be your first. You're such a beautiful, adorable, and amazing woman, so the thought of that upset me. I was only venting to them. I didn't mean it, I swear!"

I said. "Good," he said. "Send it when you have the first draft." "I always do," I said. I hung up, opened a new document, and began writing. Outside, January moved through its morning, patient and unhurried. The work continued.

“They invited you for your work and your values. If they cannot honor both, it isn’t worth the flight.” I smiled at her. “You make it sound easy.” “It’s not easy,” she replied. “But it’s simple.” I took a breath and began to write. The first draft was formal, almost cautious, and when I read it back it didn’t sound like me. I crumpled the page and started again, this time writing as though I were speaking directly to them in a room.

Dearest reader, When I first started writing this story, I had no idea what I was stepping into. Dante and Alera’s world began as a whisper in my head. Thier love was a messy, aching kind that demanded to be told and somehow, it became my very first published book on GoodNovel. This journey has been everything but easy. It’s been a learning and humbling curve. I’ve stumbled, grown, rewritten, cried, and smiled through every chapter. But most importantly, I’ve learned that stories have a way of healing not just the characters but the person writing them too.

As fireflies danced beyond the open windows and their children’s laughter echoed down the halls of the Greenwood home, the world exhaled.
