There is a gold, three-panelled wall behind the Alpha’s chair made of some type of metal and on it are carvings depicting wolves doing a range of things from living harmoniously to fighting. The room is entirely open, no walls or windows aside from the entrance, just red pillars spaced out along the perimeter with red chiffon attached to each, billowing in the breeze coming in off the lake that the room looks out on to. Two larger red pillars stand on either side of the Alpha’s chair, holding back red curtains with a large golden wolf carved around the top of each, facing each other.

The largest bookshelf I have ever seen occupies the west wall with sprawling dark stained walnut and hand-carved little wolves at the top of either side. There is a large bay window in the center that overlooks a small, rocky pond. The urge to run to the nook and crawl in it with a blanket and just stare at nature for days is overwhelming. But I know better than to assume relaxation is on the list of things for me to do. I run my eyes along the south wall, noting the forest green walls and the stunning water paintings that make the whole thing grand. Opulent splashes of purples and dark blues create the night sky with speckles of gold mimicking the stars. Beautiful in its messiness.

Right behind me, he taps a panel in the wall and the entire place erupts in soft, dim lighting. "Holy shit." I whisper. This place is bigger than any place I've ever seen in my life. The entire space is monochromatic in shades of grey, white, and beige. Contemporary and stunning, it's equipped with modern appliances and soft, plush sofas in his slightly sunken living room. "You haven't seen anything yet." He says and clicks a remote lying on the console table. The entire far wall buzzes and spreads open like theatre curtains. In front of me, is the most beautiful view of the new York skyline that I've ever seen.

My heart slammed harder. “This again…” I whispered. My hand moved to the edge. I pushed. At first, nothing. Then— A shift. Small. But real. The panel slid sideways with a soft, controlled sound. Revealing— Not darkness. But light. Soft. White. Clean. My breath caught. “…Luke…” Because this— This wasn’t old. It wasn’t hidden and forgotten. It was maintained. Inside the wall was a narrow compartment. And inside that— A small desk.

But the walls were so high that it would prove to be expensive to buy rolls of wallpaper that could cover that height. The lounge area was resting on deep gray and white tiles arranged by a professional and designed by a best interior designer or architect. The tiles did not reflect the light. There were white couches and sofas that filled each space and between each set was a pillar made of shiny dynamite tiles. She could see her reflection in one of the nearest pillars. Too bad the gray curtains that flew from the ceiling to the floor were closed covering the type of window and the view they would give. “This way!” Juma’s voice easily brought her out of her stupor.

Each section was clearly labelled, handwritten in black ink on what looked like old parchment, and I let my fingers brush over the top of the smooth stones as I passed. There were shelves on every wall, stacked high with books: some looked old and worn, whilst others looked like new-age literature, freshly printed with glossy, colourful covers. There were wall hangings of all different shapes and sizes, some with chakras on, some with celestial patterns, and others with abstract shapes and sewn in earthy colours. I wondered if this was where Aradia had found my wall hanging, and the thought of her in here, shopping for me, made my heart swell.

Instead, an enclosed area was built with smoked glass walls. “You mean this?” he asked. “Yeah, but this is new. What is it?” “Let’s see,” he said. He opened the door and I found that it had been turned into a restaurant. Nick turned on all the lights and my breath was taken away by the perfect blend of warm and contemporary designs that delivered a cozy ambience. The walls were white, adorned with warm yellow light and muted green ornaments. The walls were covered with abstract paintings, which all looked familiar to me. I approached one canvas and found that it was a giclee of my paintings. The ones I made when I was bored. I remembered having these in my room.

Leon walked to the wall at the end of his office. I, Adrian, and Sebastian looked at each other, confused. There was no door there. No handle. Just a dark teak wood wall that looked solid and massive. But then Leon pressed a wooden panel invisible to the ordinary eye. With a soft whirring sound, the wall opened. Not a door, but an entire wall panel slid sideways, revealing a hidden room behind it. Adrian whistled softly. "You have a secret room in your house?"

Just a quick look and I'll be out of there. With that, I quickly dashed up the stairs till I came face to face with a large, double door. I slowly pushed it open, only to be met with what looked like a mini library. It had lots of books lying around. The walls were covered in grey paints and more paintings were hung on them. Hyperrealistic paintings of wolves, just different colors and sizes of wolves. Some were creepy and some were looking innocent but it didn't make me stop wondering why someone will have these much paintings of wolves.

In the middle is a gold and blue vase filled with cream roses. At six places there are blue and cream china plates with gold trimming on the edges. The utensils are gold and the drinks are served in clear glass goblets, with a gold accent. Bella is in love with the color scheme of the room as she looks around in wonder. “It is so beautiful in here!” She looks up at the ceiling and sucks in a surprised breath. “Oh my God!” Above her head is a dark wooden coffered ceiling. In the middle of each panel is a carved scene, of what appears to be wolves. In some panels, there are carved scenes of large wolves fighting. In other panels, the wolves appear to be snuggling into each other.
