It did not restrict my movements and it doesn't even block air. I was laying down on my bed as I scrolled through the holographic control panel. The thing thing that I am amazed is that you can add a one way window to your room. The concept is similar to a one-way mirror, where you can see the view on one side, but not on the opposite side. I started scanning through other furnitures and frowned when I saw some weird decorations. My brow furrowed as I was about to scroll down when the control panel suddenly beeped.

Each of these pieces is worth hundreds of millions… As I walk further, the light filtering through stained glass windows casts colorful patterns on the polished marble floor. Before I can admire it all, the passageway opens into a small section, like a home bar of sorts. The walls are adorned with panels of rich mahogany, intricately carved with motifs of flora and fauna. There, the rows upon rows of alcohol are displayed—imported, homemade, every kind imaginable, their labels gleaming in the soft light. In the center of the alcove, there is a grand bar counter.

I still see it as an insult to my stature, but I could pretend I could see it as a blank canvas waiting for me to create art on. I made a list of the things I’d need in the room, such as a dresser with a mirror, a mini fridge for my skin care, a bookcase, and bed linens. I was looking at the walls, deciding what kind of wallpaper would look best and how many rolls I would need, when I noticed a door near the closet. It was the same gray color as the walls, so I didn’t notice it right away.

The entire back wall of this was replaced with another glass panel which led to a large balcony. The sky outside was bright and almost blinding. The fireplace on the one side was clean and empty; a skin rug lay in front of it and a deep, comfortable-looking, brown leather couch further to its right. A painting hung over the fireplace -- I peered at it. It had splashes of pink, yellow and purple paint in long harsh strokes and a white area in the middle that was hollowed out to look like a…snowball? The painting didn't make sense to me and the more I looked at it, the more confused I became.

I could only imagine the terror that would come along with discovering that someone at your own party was poisoned or killed in some other way; the screaming, the people running around, the crying children… I tried not to think about it. I stepped out of the room. The hallway outside was quiet. To my left, it stretched into a broader corridor; to the right were more rooms. I walked toward the left, following the path that opened into a wider space: probably, the central section of the house. Out of all the paintings, antiques and furniture pieces arranged artistically around the area, it was something strange that caught my eye first. An entire wall was designed with alternating square panels, with white strips separating them. Some of them were open to let in air, others sealed with clear glass.
