Athena's POV ''The flavour of the cake?'' The baker asks us and I turn my head to look at Alex and he does the same. We both just stare at the cakes in awe. We really don't know which once. After tasting almost all of the cake, I kind of got confused. There's this red velvet cake, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, cheese cake, rainbow cake. ''Um... would you give us a moment?'' I try to smile at the baker but he rolls his eyes before walking away. I breathe out, ''Okay, so, which one?'' I turn to Alex.

"Noted." An hour later, and Kate is true to her word. She threatens to stab me with her fork when I reach for a second bite of one of the cakes she declares to be "almost as amazing as sex," although by the expression she makes I'd almost swear that if I weren't in the room she'd tell the chef it was absolutely more amazing than sex. It's all a blur to me, a parade of confections with ridiculous names, like Quadruple Dark Chocolate Frosted Sugar Dream and Frosted Raspberry Afternoon Delight and Caramel Bavarian Custard Pie and Sweet Pink Champagne.

They all stood in front of Novelty, the book store that had been converted into a small book cafe with scrumptious cakes on display. He says proudly before seeing the look on my face and cowering a bit, "I-I didn't know which one you preferred and I thought that one cake wouldn't be enough, considering how you eat."

She shrugs. “I guess I’ve been feeling more aroused than usual.” She told him leaning into him. “But it’s good you’re stopping me from indulging in my desires.” His eyes moved to her lips wanting to kiss her but he thought against it as the man came with the cakes, putting them on the table. “The three cakes, Tia wanted you to choose from.” They took up the forks and knives taking a piece into the plates he gave them. Aaliyah tasted the first one, it wasn’t bad but it was good, Antonio gave her a piece of the second cake from his fork. This one was soft and creamy.

“I’ll be right back.” In the kitchen, I sliced two chunks of the still-warm cinnamon cake I found cooling on the counter and set them on a tray along with two fresh glasses of lemonade. Back outside, I handed one of the plates to Lianna and placed her lemonade on the table beside her lounge chair before taking the seat by hers. “This is Rainey’s signature cake.” Not bothering with the fork, I picked up the fat chunk I had sliced for myself and bit into it. “God, it’s delicious.”
